***FOUR BOURNING STARS***

image

Oh yeah, ladies, you were f@cking right, this book was VERY HOT!

Laurel is not your typical heroine. I mean, I was kinda shocked at the beginning because when she met Flynn, she was the one asking him out. Ok, ok, I know things have changed but NO WAY I’m asking a guy out. PERIOD.

”You asking me out?”
You’ll never see him again in your life if he turns you down. Just say yes.

So he tells her to meet him in a place she doesn’t know but she decides to go because she’s very intrigued.

image

And when she realizes what he’s doing there she finds it even more appealing. And something weird yet hot happens. Laurel meets Pam, Flynn’s fuckbuddy and she invites her to play voyeur while they have sex. And I didn’t how I was going to feel about that scene but let me tell you that was abso*fucking*lutely hot!

image

What goes on between me and her, it’s not pretty. If you can’t stand lookin’ at a little rope burn, you probably won’t enjoy yourself.

Pretty clear, right? Flynn likes rough sex, he likes playing but that’s it, it’s just a game, a very hot game between consenting adults.

”Are you threatening me?”
“I never threaten a woman unless she begs me to”

One of the things that I loved the most about this book was that the characters were real. You know when you read a book and they are all rich people with great jobs and better lives? Well, this is not the case, they just have normal jobs and normal lives and it felt so good reading about something so normal. Flynn was totally transparent and I loved that about him.

I like fighting, and I like fucking. I don’t care much for thinking.

So after that first voyeur encounter Laurel decides that she wants a bite of what she saw so they see each other again. Just the two of them and boy, I cannot even express how hot the sex scenes in this book were. I could say this book have some of the best sex scenes I’ve ever read, and I’ve read a few.

”I’ve been jerking off thinking about this. About making you taste me. I’m so fucking ready, you’re gonna get me off before we start playing. Taste me

image

I’m a selfish prick, and I want to be the greatest fuck of your life and ruin you for every man who comes after me.

Yes… my feelings exactly. Flynn knows what he’s doing and he probably ruined me too!

So they keep having great sex but the thing is Flynn is also a very nice guy, even if he tells her that he’s not boyfriend material, that he never calls back, he never cuddles… He just had a bad experience and he wants to play his game with people who can follow his “rules”. He knows what he wants.

I’d rather go without and be lonely than not be how I really want with someone

But then he’s not that cold and he starts breaking his rules and that’s when you just fall in love with him and he suddenly is one of your favourite book boyfriends.

image

So if you want a quick hot read, go for it! You’ll love it!

image

And yes, this was me while reading the book, LOL.

image

And enjoy Flynn ladies. Once again, I loved how simple yet interesting he was.

HIS NAME WAS HARLEY MANFIELD...

image

Ok, yeah, I might have a crush on an author, I admit it. Everything he writes is just MUSIC TO MY EARS! You know when you hear a song on the radio and you think 'wow, this seems to be for me'? Yeah, I have the same feeling every time I read a book written by Tom. And he did it again, in just a few pages. He made me cry, he made me think, he made me call my best friends to tell them that I love them and no matter how far we are now, we will always be together.

Ok, just let me tell you that Tom will teach you something in every book. Something you might know already but you don't put in practice. And he makes you want to change things.

This is the story of three best friends: Gary, Harley & Jim. They met in college and they are inseparable for a few years until eventually they all make their own lives. Jim & Gary left the house they shared with Harley because they found a better work elsewhere. I guess that's what happens all the time. I always wish I could go back to my high school time with my best friends and we were always saying that one day everything would change and we wouldn't see each other so often and that's life, I guess.

I am sorry because I am probably not making sense but this story reminded me of my past life, somehow...

Gary meets Liz (I seriously could cut a bitch right now) and they make their own family and Jim cannot find the right man to settle his life with. Harley is still in town helping children in foster care.

I must say I seriously don't understand and kinda HATE those women who doesn't like their husbands to have gay friends. I mean, SERIOUSLY??? You should be happy that your husband is blessed with a GREAT friend and you don't have to complain whether they are handsy or not, that is NOT your problem, bitch!

Something happens and their lives will change FOREVER.

image

Because you know there were always more and more kids he had to save

Jim realizes he should have spend more time with his friends but I guess we are always busy to call and say 'hey, just so you know I love you' and things like that.

"God. Why wouldn't we all have just stayed here forever? The best days of my life were with you two"

It's incredible how Tom does it. In just a few pages you connect with the characters, you feel they are your friends and you feel part of their story. You want to talk to them, to hug them, to tell them everything is gonna be ok.

I felt the tiredness that came from wishing the past could be changed

But you can't change the past. In my opinion, mainly because the past doesn't exist. The only real thing is the NOW so you better live it and cherish every single moment so you don't have to regret anything.

If only... two of the saddest words in the world. If only...

And because I learned something, I called my best friends from high school today and told them how much I love them. We only see each other every 2 months, mainly because my best friend is in the UK now but it doesn't matter, because we're like sisters and we are always together somehow.

I am very happy I read this one because it made me stop and think. It made me react and that's great. And I know this is a review and I shouldn't turn this into something personal but I can't help it, I must say my high school time was one of the best times of my life and looking at pics like this one make me smile :)

If It Flies - Aleksandr Voinov, L.A. Witt

If it flies, drives, or fornicates, it's always cheaper to rent it

image

I just don't know... I loved Quid pro Quo and Take it Off but I didn't love this one :(. I rounded up to 3 stars but this is 2.5 stars for me.

Spencer is a lawyer who meets Nick in Market Garden.

"You buy me a drink, it's a fiver. You want to lick it off me? It's a hundred?"

Yeah, pretty simple!

Spencer rents Nick for a couple hours and he wants more after that encounter. They had good sex, I should admit that but I just didn't feel the chemistry between them at all.
I think there was potential and I was expecting something better to happen but it didn't. I feel very bad now because I just LUST LOVE Voinov's books but this one wasn't for me.

"When we're here, like this, it's easy to say we can make something work. But when the sun comes up is when the rubber meets the road"

I must say I missed my boys and Rolex. I wish they could write a story about Rolex *SIGH*

Can't wait to read Robbie's story!!!

---------Previous review----------

***THANK YOU ALL FOR THIS GREAT BR***

♥ ♥ ♥ FIVE HUGE STARS!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

Second Chances is probably my favourite M/M book, it was real, sweet, hard, hot, beautiful and many more adjectives that I could name. I just HATE MYSELF for waiting so long to read this one. I just discovered a new fave author (thanks Monique) and I cannot wait to read more of his stories.

This book tells us the story of Mark. He’s a guy who works in a non profit agency and his life is very stressful: he’s always busy at work, he’s mom is dying and his boyfriend cheated on him. His boss recommends him to go get a massage to relax his body and that’s how he meets Antonio.

image

Antonio is hot as hell and straight. He loves women, period.

”With me, you get a great massage for an hour and there isn’t any funny business”
I didn’t know whether to say Amen or Shit

Everything I want the world to be
Is now comin' true especially for me
And the reason is clear, it's because you are here
You're the nearest thing to Heaven that I've seen

They both become friends and they support each other as much as they can.

Mark’s family is just GREAT, most of it anyway because some of the members are just STUPID. Antonio doesn’t have a very close relationship with his family but he has a son called Jason and he loves him to death.
But Mark’s mom is about to die. Shit happens, right? I wouldn’t say this is a sad book, hell no. This is a book about HOPE, about finding positive things after all.

And I felt like I was Mark all the freaking time. T.A. just makes you feel like he’s writing his books based on your life even if you are way different from the characters, you just feel their life is your life. And it hurts because it brings you memories and you can’t help it, your wounds will re-open but the journey is sooooo beautiful that is so f@cking worth it. Because this book taught me that life is beautiful and worth it and you need to accept what is coming because better things will come no matter what. But you also need to accept that shit happens and you better deal with it.

It’s funny where the mind wanders when you’re waiting for death to take someone you love

But the show must go on and that’s what I loved about Mark, he never complained, he just accepted what life had for him.

He eventually forgives Brian, his ex and they are happy together but he never stops visiting Antonio. They saw each other every week, for a massage and to catch up on things. Every single week they were closer, they understood each other better, they supported each other…

image

And something happens but they both keep being good friends although they never stop teasing each other.

”You just ain’t met the right woman yet.”
“And you haven’t met the right man. Or maybe you have.”
“Oh, yeah. I met the right man, all right. A fucking miracle. An angel here on earth”

Let me tell you that Mark never cheated on Brian, EVER. I see it like he obviously felt very attracted to Antonio (and who isn’t?) but he was always HONEST with Brian. The thing is we have this wrong idea about non-real couples who live in la-la-la land and they just have eyes for each other. BULLSHIT!. When you are in a relationship things are not black or white, you don’t feel butterflies every single day after 20 years and you have doubts, you meet new people who make you have double thoughts, you are HUMAN. And Mark was human too.

I didn’t like Brian at the beginning of the book but I just don’t know how I started loving him. Ok, he made a mistake, we all make mistakes and we want to be forgiven. But he paid for that mistake and then he proved his love for Mark so I couldn’t help it and not only forgave me but I also fell in love with him. You get to know his past and you understand that is also needs love.

As the time goes by Mark gets a new job in Hope House, a place for children in foster care and we meet a very special person called Robbie. He was one of my favourite characters. This kid had a horrible life but he was always respectful and in need of love.

It took a village to raise a child, and it took a rainbow of colors to make them feel at home and comfortable

And their lives go on but as usual things and shit happens and everything changes. I know sometimes is hard but that’s life and we have to accept what’s coming. We need to be happy with what we have and we need to let go.

image

I know you guys won’t be disappointed with this book because you’re are gonna love the journey. You are gonna feel you are Mark and you’re gonna think that the author is talking about your life sometimes and that’s just awesome because you feel that you are part of the story.

But life will always give you a second chance and you need to grab it and make the best of it. Never look back and try your best to be happy.

image

”The guy who would do anything to deserve a man like you”

This book taught me about forgiveness, family, love, loss and second chances…

Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again

Let's Hear it for the Boy - T.A. Webb

ONE MILLION HEARTBREAKING STARS! *** BR ON 07.04.2013

image

I swear I don't even know how to start this review. I finished a couple hours ago but I cannot stop thinking about the story. I just don't understand how the author does it. I got attached to these characters in 30 pages and sometimes I read 500 pages book and cannot connect with the characters.

Auntie Social (Matthew) is the biggest drag queen in Atlanta and Paul Stewart has to interview him but Matthew is not what he is expecting.

image

"Not your mamma's drag queen, am I?"

Paul wants to know Matthew's real story and he gets it. And OMG! What a beautiful yet hard journey. We go 30 years back, when Auntie Social was just Matthew, a 18 years old guy who was in love with his best friend Patrick.

image

I cannot really say anything else about this book but I really need you ALL to read it because I know you are going to love it, because it's a touching book, because this should matter to ALL of us, because we cannot look the other way... I know this might not has sense but it will when you read the book.

No Romeo, but he was my love and one man show

It never ceased to amaze me how much misery, pain, and grief could be contained in three short little letters

"I love you"

A BURDEN SHARED IS A BURDEN HALVED

Crow's Row - Julie Hockley
Crows everywhere are equally black

image

Crow’s Row is not a solid 4 stars book but I must say that I CANNOT wait for the sequel. The end was just GREAT but I had some issues with the story. Let’s start!

Emily is a lost soul. She’s 19 years old and she is in college. She lost her brother a few years ago and since then her life changed. She is not a conventional heroine, she is lost, she’s shy and she refuses all the money that comes from her rich family. She is living in a “horrible” place close to her college and to her brother’s cemetery so she runs every day there to visit him.

One of those days she cross paths with a mysterious guy who is apparently walking his dog. That lovely dog breaks Emily’s ancient Walkman (seriously, do they exist anymore?) and Emily’s life changes from that exact moment.

image

A few days later that same mysterious guy and his mates kidnap Emily and I couldn’t understand why she didn’t try to escape. I mean, she NEVER tried to escape from them, I just didn’t get it. As Jessica told me, that was probably because her life sucked.

Cameron, the mysterious guy, asks his kid brother, Rocco (one of my fave characters in the book) to take Emily to the ‘farm’ and Emily instantly thinks they are going to kill her so she tries to establish a relationship with Rocco and get some time before he kills her (I loved this part in the car).

”What’s your name?”
“You can call me Sexy Bull”

OMG, I love Rocco! That is all!

Somehow she discovers what Cameron and his mates do, they sell drugs and they kill people. And this was the biggest issue for me in this book. I mean, I wanted to love Cameron but OMG, what he does is SOOOOOOO FREAKING WRONG. I understand he had a complicated life but COME ON! I can’t never ever agree with that, I could never EVER fall in love with someone who sells drugs!

image

I would say Emily is kinda happy that she’s been kidnapped. She doesn’t like to be alone at home but she is always with Rocco or Griff, one of the guards of the farm. I also loved Griff. He was always taking care of Emily.

The rest of the members are just ok for her. Carly doesn’t seem to like Emily at the beginning but she is a great person. She didn’t have a good life tho and she’s just trying to save her family for the horrible world she is living in. And then, Spider… well I guess I cannot talk a lot about him without spoilers so I better shut up!

"Am I that much of a threat to you?"
"More than you know"

image

Days go by and Emily’s feelings for Cameron are growing. She likes him, there is something special about him and he cares for her but he also avoids her sometimes so she is confused.

He was sooooooo sweet sometimes but so hard another times but I guess I understand him now, he wanted to protect her over all things. I don’t want to spoil anything but let me tell you that his feelings for her started A LONG TIME AGO. Em’s brother was Cameron’s boss a few years back and before he died he asked Cameron to look after Emily so Cameron has spent part of his life watching her and falling in love with her somehow

image

”Is this okay?”

Ok, at this point I must say that the author was building a GREAT chemistry between them but I missed my butterflies when they kissed, not to mention when they did the other thing. I mean, as my buddy Candace would say, you know when you are watching a movie and they kiss but the camera goes to the window and suddenly is the next day? Yeah, that’s how this felt for me and I didn’t like it. I know this is not erotica but come on! I needed a little bit of MAMBO between them.

And now that I’m bitching, let me say that I really don’t like most of these virgin heroines. I liked Emmy but why oh why do they need to be that innocent? That is just NOT real! She was asking him if he had had sex with other girls without being in love with them. Come on Emmy! He’s 26, of course he had had sex with random girls, he’s just a man! But then when he was explaining to her WHY he was having sex with other girls I just wanted to yell at my kindle. That’s BULLSHIT!

This is just a reflection but I need to say this. I want to read about REAL CHARACTERS, that’s why I don’t real PNR. And sometimes some heroes and heroines make me think I’m reading PNR. Ok, I want to read about perfect guys and all but I also want to read about REAL people.
Sorry for bitching, I just couldn’t help it!

”You and I are just too different”

image

Ok, I’ll just stop talking about the book now because I don’t want to spoil anything. I was very intrigued at the beginning, then I thought I couldn’t like someone like Cameron but then the end was just absolutely FANTASTIC. I would have deleted the epilogue, it could be more interesting but I guess the author had her reasons to give us some information about what was going to happen next. I knew it couldn’t end that way.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, BUT (and this is a big BUT) you should know what you are getting yourself into. Those guys sell drugs and kill people, no matter what their reason is, that’s wrong in soooooo many ways. Anyway I will read book 2, I want to know MORE about them, I need to know what happens, I need to know if they are going to be able to redeem their sins (and I find this pretty difficult).

Whoever said that love hurts was wrong. Love is excruciating, specially when you can fell it slipping through your fingers and there is nothing you can do about it.
Scare Crow (Crow's Row, #2) - Julie Hockley

I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!

In my opinion, the author shouldn't have written the epilogue in book 1 BUT I understand why she did it.

Anyway, this is me right now so Julie, you better release this book SOON! ;)

The First Last Kiss - Ali Harris

Do me a favour will you? Break a rule today, go crazy, live in the moment. Open your heart. Now open it a little more. Love big, love even bigger. Don’t be afraid to stand up, to shout it out, to be heard. Say I LOVE YOU. Give it what for. Give love what for. For me.

This heartbreaking, amazingly beautiful love story is about stop doing and start being. That's what this book taught me. That's why I loved this book so much.

Ryan and Molly are meant to be together. Even if this book is not told in chronological order, you can feel their connection from the beginning. Molly is not your typical teen and Ryan is the hot football player who can have whoever he wants. But he wants Molly, he really likes her and so he proves her that in more than one occasion. That moment in 1994 at the end of the book! OMG I loved it!

But Ryan is not only hot, he’s a special guy. He’s a guy in love who would do ANYTHING for the love of his life, for his Molly.

This is a book about making decisions, about making mistakes, about having doubts and about having regrets. It’s a book that will make you stop and think if you are doing it right or not.

"Loving someone means having the confidence to know that you won't be happy all the time, that they can't make you happy all the time. It's a totally unrealistic expectation"

This book will make you appreciate what you have in your life, you can learn from Molly’s mistakes. Not only Molly makes mistakes, so does Ryan but it doesn’t matter because this book will teach us to stand up and fight as much as you can to get what you want.

It's the memories that stay with us forever, not the stuff that's attached to them.

And this is a book about friendship and family. Sometimes you might think you don’t fit in your family but if you take the time to listen to them, if you give them the attention they need you might realize they are there for you, to hold your hand. Don’t be shy, just take it!

And yes, Ali mentioned this song and I think it fits Molly and her doubts/insecurities so damn well.

When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach
So she ran away in her sleep
Dreamed of para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Every time she closed her eyes
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh

READ. THIS. BOOK! Please!!! If you like heartbreaking stories give it a try because not only the story is stunning, the writing style is even better.

Why didn't I give it 5 stars if I loved this story so much, you ask? First of all, promise you WILL NOT OPEN SPOILERS if you haven't read this book. Don't do it for me, do it for you, because it will ruin this story for you and you deserve to go blind and experience the magic in this story.

This being said, my reason for not giving this book 5 stars is because of the last pages. Not because of the ending per se - you all know what I am talking about if you have read this- but because of the way the author wanted to leave us with the feeling that Molly's life was going to be 'awesome' from now on. I didn't need that, I wanted to cry until the end. Because my heart, my emotions and my soul were with RYAN who is the most important character in this story. I know years will pass and people move on, I just didn't need to read about it to be honest.

ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW UNEXPECTED, HOW MAGICAL, HOW LIFE-CHANGING LOVE IS.

Thanks Marta for telling me about this book!

Starfish and Coffee - Kele Moon

image

”You think the marlin are biting this year?”

I swear that line gave me goosebumps…

Alex is a guy who’s been living all his life in Mirabella island with his brother Will and his friends. He hasn’t had an easy life but he’s doing well. Matt is a rich boy who is just enjoying one year off his crazy and “perfectly calculated” life.

They are opposites but they still can’t fight what they feel when they’re together. Not even Matt who is apparently straight.

”What do you want to hear? That I’ve been jerking myself raw thinking about you for the past three days?”

So that’s the premise of the book… What will happen when carefree local boy and Mr Perfect decide to give their feelings a try? I’ll tell you what will happen, you’ll feel goosebumps every time they are together, you’ll want them to have a HEA, you’ll want them to fight everyone to stay together but fate might have different plans for them.

SIX YEARS LATER…

You want to know what happens six long years later? Then read this book and enjoy their journey.

I am not going to sell you this like this is the most original story. It’s not but the way the author tells you the story is so special that you’ll love this book with its imperfections and all. And yeah, the sex was beyond hot!

And the last sex scene when they are in Alex’s house and Holly leaves was so damn freaking special!!!

Lately, just a few books give me the butterflies. Well, Starfish and Coffe was one of them.

***FULL REVIEW NOW UP***

FIVE BEAUTIFUL & HEARTBREAKING AUSTRALIAN STARS

Could I have loved this book anymore? NO

Would I change anything about their story? Hell NO

Do I need a sequel even if I know I won't probably get it? Yes, please with sugar on top!

image

I bought this book AGES ago but I didn't want to read it because I knew how it ended. And I didn't mind this didn't have a HEA , I just lost the interest because I know what would happen. Anyway, Basuhi read it last week and she loved it so I thought it was time to give it a try, even if YA is not a genre I read a lot lately.

This is the story of Gemma & Ty. Gemma is a 16 years old girl from London who is traveling with her parents. She is in Bangkok airport waiting for her flight and she meets Ty, a 25 years old guy who has coffee with her.

When I read the blurb of this book I always thought about KISS ME by Ed Sheeran but now that I have finished the book I can say this song is just for them:

I've fallen for your eyes
But they don't know me yet

And the feeling I forget
I'm in love now

Kiss me like you wanna be loved
Wanna be loved
Wanna be loved

The thing is Gemma is having coffee with this beautiful guy one minute and the next one someone has drugged her. She just doesn't know where she is and she doesn't know what happened but she wakes up in the middle of nowhere... (I would say the middle of paradise, but I understand she doesn't see it that way).

image

I was scared this was going to be boring, I mean, I almost knew they didn't even kiss but boy, I was waaaaaaaaay wrong, I didn't even need it.

I know, a lot of my GR buddies cannot like a story about a kidnapper (yes, I am thinking about you Baba) but this is one is way different and I know most of my buddies don’t read YA anyway but I just wanted to say that Ty is not the typical kidnapper. He NEVER put a hand on Gemma, EVER forced her to do anything. He obviously had a problem, I understand and accept that what he did was WRONG but he always respected her even if he didn’t respect her freedom.

”How long will you keep me?”
“For ever, of course”

At the beginning, I couldn’t help it, I thought he was freaking insane but I ended up understanding some things about him and I really think he was in love with her and he just wanted her to love that land as much as he did. He did it the wrong way which is a shame.

But I also agreed with him sometimes, even if the way he did things was NOT correct.

”I like cities”
“No one’s real in a city. Nothing’s real”

Gemma hates him, she just wants to escape, she doesn’t have any kind of feelings for him at all during a good part of the book. And that is what I also loved. If I imagine myself in a situation like that I cannot believe I could be able to have feelings for my kidnapper the next day I have been kidnapped, that is NOT real. Gemma was very real, there was not even one second that she didn’t try to scape from him but at the same time she was curious about him, about his life, about why he was so fucked up so she gave in and started talking to him.

When the author starts telling us more about Ty you can’t help it and you feel sorry for him because he didn’t have an easy life. I am not saying I think he did the right thing but I can understand why he was so fucked up.

image

”They just wanted recognition, they wanted to fit in... it’s what most people want”
“Excepts freaks like you”
“I want freedom”

image

Ty explains Gemma how he met her, why she was the perfect person to go with him to that land and even though, I repeat that he did the wrong thing, he had his reasons. Ok, he kidnapped her but he also saved her from Josh, years before .

Every single part of the landscape and every single animal was a character of this book. The story with the Camel was maybe the kind of story that Ty was expecting to have with Gemma. His “baby steps” worked with the Camel…

”We’re getting there. Baby steps"
But you know what? Those baby steps also worked with Gemma, even if she was stubborn

“Pain means it’s healing”

Gemma knows he is not that bad but she stills can’t trust him. She just wants to escape, at all costs and he only wants her there, even for a few months because he is convinced that she will end up loving that place as much as he does.

”It’s just… to survive this land, you need to love it. And that takes time. Right now, you need me”
“I know”

But she cannot help it either and she starts caring for him, she tries to understand or help him, even if she knows he is doing the wrong thing.

”People love what they’re used to, I guess”
“No. PEOPLE SHOULD LOVE WHAT NEEDS LOVING. That way they can save it”

Wow, this was one of my favourite quotes of the book. So true!

image

I loved the way Ty showed her his love for that land, for his paints. The way he respected the oldfellas. Ty is seriously like a perfect guy. I know he had issues but he was PURE, he was a good person.

image

And finally Gemma started enjoying his company, she stopped running away from him, ignoring him.

You smiled, your eyes crinkling at the corners. I looked away quickly, wanting to hold your gaze but knowing I shouldn’t.
Right at that moment it was as if we were the only two people left in the whole world.

image

”And how long will we sit here like this? Just another moment, or the rest of our lives? You know which one I’d prefer

image

******SPOILERS AHEAD******

And yeah, shit got real as usual. But you know what? Ty proved he was a good person once again because he never hesitated, he decided to save her life, NO MATTER WHAT.

image

“Why?”
You didn’t answer that. Instead you touched the ring gently and looked piercingly at me, unsaid questions in your eyes.

When Gem is safe in the hospital she misses Ty, she misses their moments together.

It’s hard to hate someone once you understand them

But I hated you for something else too. Right then, and at every moment since you’d left me in that apartment . I wanted your arms around me, your face close to mine. I wanted your smell. And I knew I couldn’t - shouldn’t – have it. That’s what I hated most. The uncertainty of you. You’d kidnapped me, put my life in danger… but I loved you too. Or thought I did . None of it made sense.

And Gemma finally accepts she did love that land, she did appreciate those days, she did love Ty

image

And let’s face it, you did steal me. But you saved my life too. And somewhere in the middle, you showed me a place so different and beautiful, I can never get it out of my mind. And I can’t get you out of there either. You’re stuck in my brain like my own blood vessels

I loved Gemma, because she always knew and understood what was wrong and what was right. Because she wasn’t selfish, because she defended the truth, because she was sensible.

You told me once of the plants that lie dormant through the drought; that wait, half dead, deep in the earth. The plants that wait for the rain. You said they’d wait for years, if they had to; that they’d almost kill themselves before they grew again. But as soon as those first drops of water fall, those plants begin to stretch and spread their roots. They travel up through the soil and sand to reach the surface. There’s a chance for them again

I love how the author ends her acknowledgments:

As Ty says, this is a land that needs love and ‘needs saving’

Is that love or Stockholm Syndrome? I want to believe this was a love story…
Faith & Fidelity - Tere Michaels
FOUR SWEET STARS

This sweet and romantic book tells us the story of Evan. Evan lost his wife a year ago and was left with his four kids. He is still missing her every single day of his life and he doesn’t want to meet anyone.

You grieve with every fiber of your being when the thing you love most is ripped out of your life

Evan’s colleagues, Helena & Vic, try to keep him busy, they want him to have a normal life so he goes out with them one night and he meets Matt. Matt is an ex cop and he is kinda lonely. He doesn’t have many friends so when he meets Evan he realizes they can have fun together (nope, not that what you are thinking). They are both straight or at least they think they are.

But Matt can’t stop thinking about Evan when they are not together even if he doesn’t know what that means.

Pretended that he wasn’t thinking of Evan when his hand finished the job his dream had started

image

Matt meets Evan family and he falls in love with all his kids and the kids love him back! They have fun together but Matt seriously can’t hide his feelings anymore… So the inevitable happens and they kiss.

image

Evan doesn’t want to hide what they have but is not easy for him. He feels bad for his kids, his colleagues, his neighbours, everyone!. But first of all he needs to know what he really feels for Matt.

I want something I can’t have that you want to give me. I think. Maybe.

Things get more intense between them and Matt doesn’t know how to handle the situation, he wanted ALL with Evan but he didn’t want to scare him.

There’s no way I’m sleeping anytime soon with the feeling of him on my skin and, woo boy, in my mouth. I’ve never been so fucking scared in my whole entire life. This is a man and I want him and I think maybe I lo… Nope, not going there, and oh shit, what the hell am I supposed to do now?

image

Sex scenes were not very explicit, they were VERY HOT but not what I am used to read. Anyway, I think this book was more about accepting the homosexuality in your life and it was very good.

They learned to love each other, to cope with life loving each other. It was not easy but boy, it was worth it.

They were funny yet hot together and Evan’s kids were adorable.
I think this is a great M/M book for beginners and I would recommend it to everyone!

Don’t give us someone else to love if they’re going to leave.

***DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVEN’T READ METAMORPHOSIS***

I hate reviewing 3-stars books. I really hate it. Specially when I feel bad about the rating because I really enjoyed this roller coaster but I can’t give this one more than 3 stars.

This book starts with Mason & Scarlett trying to work out their ‘relationship’. As you might remember at the end of Metamorphosis, Scarlet goes back to Mason and chooses him over Ash. Yes, the bitch did that. But even though I’ll always support Ash, I loved Metamorphosis and the way it ended. I think Erin did a pretty good job. It was a 5 stars book for me. So, why only 3 stars now you ask? I loved the story, the writing style and most characters but Scarlet is just too much. She made me think Kiera (Thoughtless) is a lovely person and we all know she’s not!

I want to mention (again) I love Erin writing style, I think she’ll give us great books in the future. You can tell I feel bad for my rating, right?

image

Things are kind of okay between Scarlett and Mason even though she still thinks Ash is her soul mate (I second that). But then Mason’s group get a great opportunity to go on tour and shit gets real.

Scarlett is not really happy with the news, especially because Bentley, Mason’s agent, is going on tour with them and let’s say they have history. Yes, Scarlett, if you leave for 8 months that’s what happens. What? Did you think he was going to be waiting for you while praying every day? Oh well, baby, guys are like that.

The thing is Ash wants to prove Scarlett that his feelings are real, he is in love with her and he wants her to know it.

”But understand this Scarlett: it will never be goodbye – not for you and me”

So there we go: love triangle again! Not really, we have another man joining the equation

”HAPPINESS DEPENDS ON OURSELVES”

So what did I love about this book? The below deserved more than 5 stars:

*All music references. Thanks Erin for doing that, it was a wonderful experience.

*Getting the opportunity to see soul mates together.

*Writing style.

*Ash, even though he was a softer version of my Ash.

*Sex scenes between Ash & Scarlett. Loved them all!

But I also have to mention what I disliked:

*I didn’t like the way she goes back to Ash . It feels like she goes back to him just because she thinks Mason cheated on her. I wanted her to go back to Ash because they are soul mates, not because she thought something about Mason that anyway was not correct.

*Because of the above reason, I couldn’t feel the same connection between Ash & Scarlett. The connection I felt in Metamorphosis. I really hope I can feel it again in book #3.

* Maxi . Seriously??? Was there anyone else on earth??? It had to be him??? I thought you guys had a friend code in America. We have it in Spain!

*Scarlett and the way she thinks she has to go from one guy to another. Scarlett, guapa, get your shit together and be alone for a while. You need to be happy for who you are and stop messing around with guys until you make up your mind!

image

And guess what? I thought I was not going to read the next book in the series but somehow I am not only happy I read this one but I also can’t wait for the third book in this series. I know Erin can deliver what we need.

”That’s your reminder that I love you. Always and Forever. You’re my Psyche and I’m your Eros”
The Fifth Favor - Shelby Reed
4.5 HOT STARS

image

I just LOVED this book, BIG TIME! Why am I not giving it a 5? Because I missed an epilogue! But anyway, this is in my favorite pile, I would recommend this to everyone!

Billie is a reporter and she is working on an article about gigolos. Adrian *SIGH* is a gigolo, he sells his body to rich women. They meet for an interview and boy, you can feel the sparks!

image

During that first encounter, he asks her for a dance and the chemistry between them is just soooooo much!.

For once I can touch
What my heart used to dream of
Long before I knew
Someone warm like you
Would make my dreams come true

Adrian's life is not really easy but it's the life he's choosen. As Baba (http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/545036365) said on her review, is also great reading about normal people who have not been tortured in their childhood.

Something happens with one of his colleagues in Avalon (the place they work for) and Adrian's life changes. He is also confused because he hasn't been interested in a woman for 8 years but Billie is just what he needs. She is normal, sweet, beautiful, tangible...

image

"I can touch you right here on this sofa, in a million different ways. Taste you. Take you to heaven and back again"

So he decides to start a game with Billie, no feelings involved...

A FAVOR FOR A FAVOR

"Why did you invite me tonight, Adrian?"
"You remind me there's still a world out there"

image

"You kissed me like you meant it, and I liked it"

Adrian and Billie are playing a game very dangerous because they are falling in love with each other even if they never intended to.

"Lei sono bello, Il mio amore"

I don't really want to spoil the story for you but pls read it! I loooooved it and will read more from this author :)

Love scenes were GREAT, I love it when characters don't have sex straight away because sometimes the wait is worth it and this time it was more than worth it.

"This is my bed. You're the only woman I want here -" he guided her hand to his heart "-and here."

Thanks Baba for your rec :)

Cut & Run (Cut & Run, #1) - Madeleine Urban, Abigail Roux

Ty & Zane! *SIGH*

"Are you feeling this too?"
"No"
"Me, either"

image

Ok, let me do this short and nice because there are too many GREAT reviews about this book.

Let me say (and pls don't kill me) that I didn't love this book. I liked it, A LOT, but didn't love it. I looooooved their love story but the case they were working on was kinda boring for me and I knew, I freaking knew who the bad guy was!

image

Cut & Run tells us the story of Ty & Zane *SIGH*. They have to work together on a new case and they basically don't like each other, period.

Respectfully, sir, I understand you need someone riding hers on this... agent. But what am I supposed to learn from him?"

"You can learn to kiss my ass. Just like you do everyone else's"

You see? They tease each other ALL the time and I LOVED that part of the book.

image

They are fighting all the time and boy, it was soooooo funny! Ty is the biggest smart ass ever but I still love Zane the most :)

"I've never made fun of you. Making fun of you would imply that something about you is fun"

And sometimes their teasing was more than fun, it was hawt!

”He suggested putting you out of your misery”
“Your gun ain’t big enough, son”
“At the risk of sounding clichéd, I’ve never had that complain before”
“I’ll believe that when I see it”

Oh, Ty, you’ll see it and you’ll LOVE it as much as I did!

”Usually I don’t bother people I want to see naked”

As days go by their relationship starts to change and even if they still keep the teasing, they also like each other, and their chemistry is SOOOOO GOOD!

And then, the inevitable happened and their first was OH MY GOD!

image

”Should I go back to my room tonight or will we be able to work together and fuck each other senseless at the same time?”

I can’t keep talking about their story (or the case) because I don’t want to spoil you guys but I really recommend this book to all my M/M buddies.

When the Music Stops - John T. Fuller

FIVE HUGE AND HEART BREAKING STARS

image

This book was a great surprise. The story is nothing I've read about before and the characters were just perfect.

Dr Archer works in an asylum and Mr White is one of his patients. Mr White doesn't speak but Dr. Archer wants to help him to get better.

There are things of pure beauty in this world that the Bible would have us believe sinful...

Dr Archer spends a lot of time with Mr White and he is discovering that Mr White is a very special person.

He obviously feels bad because he has feelings for Mr White and he tries to avoid them at all costs.

Now, in the overbearing loneliness of his 4am bed he touches himself in secret, panting and hungry and stunned by shame, knowing there are no secrets from fate, trying not to picture his patient's joyous smile, he nonetheless dreams of his sweet, sulky mouth, his laughing blue eyes

image

Archer decides to take Mr White home to spend a day with him and they can't control their feelings anymore.

One shade the more, one ray theExplain less
Had half impair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place

I am sorry because I am not able to write a coherent review but after this PERFECT book I am at a loss of words, I don't know what to say. I just know that I want to read MORE from this author, this was like reading poetry, just AH-MAZING.
